The nearest is Martina Franca which with its narrow streets, its historic baroque style and its beautiful Basilica di San Martino are the hub of the whole town. The air that is breathed and decidedly quiet. A place where you can walk and savor the typical cuisine. From Borgo delle Querce you can access the center both by car, but also by bike and during the beautiful sunny mornings you can admire the expanses of fields and olive trees. Martina Franca is the town of the beautiful Festival of Valle d’Itria. Every year, from every part of the world, from mid-July to early August, tourists and opera lovers come together to attend operas and concerts held by renowned artists. The Festival is housed in the splendid theater of the Palazzo Ducale which stands on an ancient medieval castle of 1388. For nature lovers, a few kilometers from Borgo delle Querce, do not miss the beautiful walks in the enchanting Bosco delle Pianelle Nature Reserve. An evocative place suitable for children, where you can walk or ride a bike and admire a real forest made of oaks, holm oaks, ash trees and a multitude of orchids.
Moving away from Borgo delle Querce, another stop not to be missed is Alberobello. Alberobello is one of the 53 Italian sites included by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. The town seems to rise like an enchanted place. A place to remain breathless before the characteristic Trulli . Pyramid-shaped buildings in dry stone, typical of the whole Valle d’Itria. The historic center is entirely made up of these particular buildings that make Alberobello a unique town in the world and so called the Capital of Trulli. Walking through its streets, admiring the characteristic constructions, in some of these, you can enter and climbing up some audacious little stairs you can admire the beautiful panorama that dominates all the cones. The show leaves nothing short of breathless! There many restaurant in Trulli but in one of these (Ristorante il Pinnacolo) you can eat with a gorgeous view on the old city.
Another stop that is possible from Borgo delle Querce is Ostuni. A beautiful town whose ancient village offers many picturesque aspects thanks to its characteristic buildings. Completely white houses that give the name of Citta Bianca. From the narrow lanes, walking you can hear the scent of toasted almonds, taste typical foods of the Apulian tradition and admire the beautiful ceramics. From the Borgo delle Querce you can reach the beautiful coasts of Puglia, that of the Adriatic and that of the Ionian. White beaches, inlets and caves offer unforgettable images and moments.
